Low cost building : Introduction of cost effective building materials and technologies, training the masons in sustainable technologies, using local resource for construction activities.
Water conservation : Rainwater harvesting for drinking purpose, using roof as catchment area to collect water. Introduction of ferrocement technology in the construction of water tanks for conserving rainwater using ferrocement technology.
Energy related : Guidance in the construction of bio-gas plants, smokeless chulla briquettes from bio-waste as substitute for fire wood, solar energy is used for solving the cooking, lighting energy needs.
Pottery : Designing a new kiln which consume less energy for its firing purpose. Comparative study of kiln. Training the potter in decorative items manufacturing etc.
Training : Training the masons in building materials manufacture. Training the unemployed youths in job oriented and labour intensive trades such as A/C mechanic, electrical wiring and winding techniques, etc.
Agriculture : Introduction of biotechnology among farmers in the project area. Evaluation of manure for coconut using the coir-pith, Bio-control techniques, etc.
Pollution control : Creating awareness of pollution control among public.
Sanitation : Construction of sanitary latrine using low cost appropriate technologies and creating awareness on sanitation.
Micro credit activities : Formation of self help groups, savings and credit activities through SHG. Leadership training for women and empowerment of women. Income generation activities for the women. Legal awareness for the oppressed women.
Income generation activities : We involve with income generation of poor through micro credit and training.
Livelihood restoration of the people affected by Tsunami : People have lost their livelihood during the tsunami hit in the coastal villages and we created alternate employment opportunities for them.
Infrastructure creation of the people affected by natural calamities : The infrastructure such as fishermen net shed, water and sanitation infrastructures had been affected by the natural calamities have been created and renovated.
Housing activities for the people affected by tsunami : Those who have lost the houses during tsunami was given new houses during the renovation of their livelihood process.
